Preparing for Spring in the studio and some really good bagels

We watched a blizzard this week outside of our studio windows and inside we worked on the pieces we're launching this Spring! We have three planned for the near future:

Kit Cottontail (our mini mohair bunny will get a relaunch in new colors). Aster Cottontail will come back in its 4th edition! (I can't believe we've already gone through 4 versions of our first toy.) If you've been sad that Aster has been sold out--rest assured they will be back soon!

And because I can't help myself I also had to design something new: a baby bird! A chick! A very round and soft chick! You can read in depth about the prototyping process for this chick here if you're interested.

The fun part of planning for Spring and making toys that will be in Easter baskets is I get to also decorate for Spring. We made a little dollhouse that was scaled for our toys (because we needed an elaborate handmade photo prop) and I thought it would be fun to decorate it for Spring this year. If you'd like to follow along as I plant bulbs and make spring garlands in the following weeks see our instagram.

We're looking forward to sharing these Spring toys with you in the coming weeks.  In the meantime while we're all waiting for actual Spring to come may I recommend you make bagels?

I've made this Claire Saffitz bagel recipe twice now (most recently during the snowstorm) and they come out so so amazing! I will note that I used molasses in place of barley malt syrup because I didn't know where to find barley malt syrup  and they were still a success.

Until next time,

Ps. Looking to buy something in stock for Spring now? We still have a few of our Clover Grazer sheep on the shelves!
