We made it through February and Spring is in sight! This is a great time to share this Spring's edition of Aster Cottontail!

This edition is made with our classic cotton sherpa fabric hand dyed with black tea, resulting in the warmest, softest brown. This is the third edition of Aster and the first in earthy colors with a bright orange linen collar.

Our hand dying process takes about 2 weeks. We first pretreat the fabric with soymilk and let it cure over a week so the dye can bond with the cotton fibers. We then create a dye in our aluminum pot (this time out of black tea), heat it and let it sit for a day. Then strain it and reheat the dye now with the fabric. The fabric is in the dye pot for 24 hours and then dries for a week before being washed.

These bunnies are perfect for an Easter basket! We will not e repeating any fabric combinations when this batch runs out, so this years edition is truly unique!

Any now for an early spring recommendation!:

I've been seeing these cinnamon roll focaccias all over the internet and I knew I had to make one. The recipe originates from Lacey Ostermann (_LaceBakes_ on instagram). She has a focaccia recipe that she adapts to use butter instead of olive oil and adds a cinnamon sugar filling and glaze. I tried it for breakfast this morning and it's absolutely delicious.

One thing I altered about the recipe--since I wanted it for an early breakfast I started it the night before and did the final rise in the fridge overnight. That worked great!

Hope you enjoy our new Aster Cottontail bunnies!

Thanks for reading,
